There was a lot of interesting things I learned about in the two website. First, I read about Flo Pauli's answer to the question, "I realized that humans have 46 chromosomes and chimps 48, but do we (Homo sapiens) have more genes or fewer genes than the chimps?" When reading this question to myself, I thought that chimps have fewer genes than us, I don't know why I thought that, but I think that humans are healthier than chimps. Anyways, from this article I learned that 98.8% of chimps and humans are the same and only 1.2% different. Also, I learned that even though chimps and human have different numbers of chromosomes, it doesn't mean their different, in fact, us and the chimps would probably have the same number of genes. The other thing I learned from this article was that there is no relationship between the number of chromosomes and genes. One example is that humans have 46 chromosomes, while goldfish have 94. One of the fact that I learned today that was so interesting to me was the part when 2 of the chimps chromosomes was in one of the humans chromosomes or which you may call it vice versa . There was also another fact that I read about that amazed me. It was in the reading about how humans and chimps used so start with the same number of chromosomes but then 5 million years ago, the two organisms drifted apart, their genomes changes, some sections were lost, gained, and others were copied.

When reading this question to myself, I was also curious why we can't just have one long strand of chromosomes and not 46 split chromosomes. In this website, I learn that it is a mystery on how we have 46 chromosomes also I learned that we all have copies of every chromosome except for males. This article doesn't really interests me because I have mostly learned this in science. For example, I already know that both mom and dad give half of their chromosomes which at the end will have two copies of each chromosome just like the mom and dad but our DNA is mixed. In the first article I said that 2 of the chimp’s chromosomes were in one of the humans chromosomes. Well, in this article it said that some chromosomes break off and where ticked to other chromosomes. Now, in the last 6-8 million years, 2 of the chromosomes fused together and made 2 chimp chromosomes. Some of the things I didn't know about were that certain type of fern or another word for it is "Ophioglossum reticulatum" has 1,260 and still we are more complex than a fern.
